Tata Sky's Everywhere TV service now available for the most popular mobile OS |
The app is now available only for Android smartphones, but the company is working on tablet compatibility. The list of compatible smartphones include Samsung Galaxy S2 running on version 4.1.2, Galaxy S3 on 4.1.1 and 4.3, GalaxyS 4 with OS version 4.2.2 and 4.3, Note 2 running 4.1.2 and 4.3 and Note 3 with 4.3. It is also compatible with Nexus 4 running version 4.3, Samsung Grand duos with 4.2.2, and HTC One X and One running on 4.2.2. So it looks like those on Android KitKat miss out on the app for now, which is strange considering many of the phones in the list now have KitKat.
While the app is free to download, the Everywhere TV service would cost Android users Rs 60 per month. The company reveals that its Tata Sky Mobile app has been widely accepted by users. The app got about 1 lakh subscribers within 2 weeks of its launch and has already witnessed 5 lakh downloads.
Vikram Mehra, Chief Commercial Officer at Tata Sky, said, “The demand for Everywhere TV has been spectacular since its launch. People are spending a lot of time outside homes and are today experimenting with options to consume videos using different screens. Everywhere TV, is the solution to have easy access to all their favorite television shows on their mobile handsets, anywhere and everywhere.”
Users can down the Tata Sky Mobile app from Google Play Store.
